I brought home a female dusky pionus who needed to be rehomed a year ago. She was just turning 11 yrs old, only knew one home and her prior flew with her to meet me. She wanted to make sure everything was good before finalizing her decision.
Long story short, after a year my little dusky hen has accepted me and willingly steps up onto my hand. I am ecstatic!!! It was worth the wait to gain her trust and to see her eyes sparkle.
