My new Senegal Parrot Cassie is doing really well. She made it through her second week being home. I am so happy to have her and I think she has bonded with me a little more this week. She loves attention and is very sweet but,.... I have noticed something funny about her. The moment she notices the sun doing down (getting darker outside), she gets really nervous. This evening when I went into the dinning room to pick her up from her play gym, to put her to bed, she tried flying to me as quick as she could. She couldn't get far enough though, because her wings are clipped, so she ran towards me the other half of the room. In her eyes, I don't think I could get to her quick enough. I was only away from the room about 10 minutes prior to that. I am soooo happy she is seeking me for security now but ohhh boy, what am I to do? lol. She reminds me of a little toddler. She was happy after I held her but I do hope she'll get used to changes better. I am putting her in her sleeping cage at dusk before it gets dark outside. She still doesn't quite like her cage covered but after a tiny bit she settles down and goes to sleep.

She is 8 months old and I get the feeling she's never really seen what the outoors and sunshine looks like (much at all) until I brought her home. During the day she loves looking outside and she now LOVES car rides. Today she made her FIRST noise mimic! She made kissing sounds when I kissed her. I do see her listening a lot so just maybe... I'll hear her first word(s) someday soon. I do hope I'm making her as happy as she is me. She is already so spoiled and I think she knows it already. lol.

lol well come to the wonderfull world of sene's :)

they love company, and while she is young please introduce her to as many everyday things/situtations/ppl as you can, and stick to a routine

i think she is bonding with you and it becaused she missed you being away! these birds will stick to you better then super glue, when i was nuts choosen person, she'd not get off me an i even had to bath with her etc, and now my mans her choosen person, his made it clear he doesn't like her on him all the time, but she is ok with that now as she is out of season!

or

she knows her bed time is coming an she's doing the i wanna stay with you! act :)

these birds can also be very crafty! enjoy your sene, as much as i enjoy having mine rule my roost lol
