Today, I put a deposit down on a brown-headed Poicephalus He's almost 2 years old, not a baby but a teenager, and he's a beautiful, confident little guy. Now, to get the best cage and start setting up so I can bring him home soon. I bought him a boing tonight. I've always wanted a boing!! I may need to get him his own so that I can keep this one

Congrats!! Boings are great! River absolutely loves his! He hangs out and clowns around on it all the time! The fringe on the bottom was a tad too long for my comfort, so I gave it a "haircut". Lol

Congragulations , as u l am also waiting on my new bird (sun conure ) l picked up my parrot cage last week , this week my how to care for conure book turned up , have also orded harness leed and guess what a bird dyper ! So all l need is my bird , have u tried the harness or dyper on your other bird ?

Thanks so much everyone for the congratulations. I'm so happy to have found him, as brown-heads are hard to find. Hoping to visit him again tomorrow, though my ailing, elderly kitty has a vet appointment first...

I've got his cage chosen, I think. Now just to buy it and get it home. Not sure, brighteyes, if I'll try a harness on him. I think we'll go slow and see what he's comfortable with. Pois can be shy, and he'll be in a totally new environment. He'll have his health check to validate the health guarantee - and give me peace of mind - and then we'll explore our new lives together

Been looking at cages for Poi, settled on a good one, and bought it today. It will be delivered in the next few weeks Been picking up a few other things we'll need and parts to make toys. Was going to visit him today, but kitty spent most of the day at the vet, so rescheduled my visit to next week.

Preparing for his arrival makes it feel real!

My little Finn comes home to us tomorrow! Cannot wait. His cage is set up and ready to go. I made him some toys, bought some others, already know I only have about a week or two worth and need to get more His well-bird/new bird veterinary exam is on Monday. Then we have 30-some years to get to know each other and be a family!
