Hello all,

I am new to posting on the forums here, but have always found helpful advice so I thought I would reach out with an issue that I am having and see if anyone can offer some advice.

This is just a recent development, but every day when I take out my bird (Beelzies) from her cage, she will go to a certain spot on the top of her cage. She will proceed to crouch down low and slightly extend her wings to the sides and shake slightly almost as if she wants to fly but then changes her mind. Then right after she will let out a piercing screech and move to an upright position. Then she will go back down and do the same thing again. Over and over and over almost as if she is in a trance!

I will go over to her and try to get her to snap out of it by taking her off the cage and playing with her for a bit. Even if I am right there in front of her she will make all her happy sounds and pin her eyes and be playful but then she will crouch down and act in the same way right in front of my face. When I do take her off her cage at times, she will want to go back to her cage and immediately will go back to what she is doing again.

Has anyone else experienced something like this before? Help! :11:

I'm not sure if anyone will be able to view this link, but I've posted a video of this behaviour on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152529601620031&set=o.10162906198&type=2&theater

My sennie does that minus the noise and for her it means she wants to be picked up.

Hopefully someone else will have some suggestions.

That's what I thought originally. That she was just doing this for attention. But the thing that stumps me, is that when I do pick her up she wants to go back to her cage. Or even if I do go to her she's still doing it when I'm there in front of her, instead of lifting her foot or making actions that she wants to come to me. I live in an apartment, so this new behaviour that she's developed is frustrating but also makes me wonder if the neighbours hate me .... lol
