I'm getting my Meyers very soon

Good evening. I'm so excited!!! I'm getting my Meyers very soon from Old World Aviaries. Scott notified me on 7/18 that my baby is a girl. I have been ready since I contacted him back in April. I don't have a name yet but would like to get a few suggestions. I am not new to birds but lost my passion a couple of years ago after the death of my oldest son. I re-homed my African Greys and Umbrella Cockatoos during that time. I have breed and hand raised many different bird species. I once hand raised a Meyers parrot about 14 years ago. His name was Arthur Meyers. I met a nice lady that was disabled and wanted a Meyers but couldn't afford to buy one due to her fixed income. Guess what.....I took Arthur Meyers to her. She made small monthly payments. She was so consistent that I forgave part if the balance. It was pure joy seeing her get the desire of her heart. We used to keep in touch but lost contact a few years later. I often think about him which is why I'm getting my forever Meyers. Enough of my rambling..... Please share any name ideas.

I love your story! I'm sorry to hear of the sorrow you went through, but getting a little Meyer's again sounds like a wonderful idea. Already being an experienced bird person is always a plus .

I'm a big fan of the Poicephalus, and I have two myself. The Meyer's are one of the prettiest of them all, and you know Old World is top knotch. I can't wait til you get him/her and post pics!

Edit: I just re-read that your baby is a girl I'm at a loss for names though!

Ooooooo how exciting! Do you know how soon you will likely get her? I'm playing the whole waiting game at the moment too..... It's such a killer! Lol

Thanks for the kind words. I will be getting her very soon. I have several names in mind but will wait until I get her before deciding.
