Has anyone's Senegal copied the noise of another bird that they live with? Eg, you have an Amazon that screams and now your Senegal makes the same noise?

No, but I've had my Red Bellied do a conure! LOL
Quite a few years ago we were living near a conure (Sun?), so Robin picked it up. Funny, but since the Poi's just don't have as powerful of a voice, it 'sounds' like a conure only not as loud!

Ok great! I'm still keeping in touch with the people I originally told you about who have the Senegal, if he is still looking for a new home by the time I'm ready I would still love to get HIM. He lives with a loud conure and Amazon though so if he picks up their noises, it would make me reconsider LOL

Oh good, glad you're still looking at him . I really wouldn't worry because a Senegal will never be near as loud in volume as either a conure or Amazon! Out of the smaller Poi's, their natural calls are more like chirps and whistles. Even their loudest chirp or whistle while it can be slightly piercing, they're really not capable of making a LOUD noise as far as parrots go. That's why they're considered "quiet parrots".

Don't be surprised, three of my birds bark, two of them cry like babies and scream like tortured kitties, we don't have kitties or babies. Our neighbor's car alarm went off several times the other day and of course my quaker loved it and made it her own. My birds have also imitate cardinals and mockingbirds. They do learn from each other, but like Julie said, they can only turn the volume up so high, according to species.
My Ekkie meows like the cats, and my Pi cries like my dog, but as far as the screams of the other birds, I have not noticed them really picking that up.

When I adopted Sidney he had picked up the noises of the other birds in bird shop that was hosting him. He was quite fluent in cockatiel and quaker. But since then those sounds have become far less frequent along with other noises he made then. One a rather shocking sound of someone opening up a pop can. "sssssCRACK!"
He has ignored the noises my blue crowns make. I don't think he likes them. He seems to prefer higher pitched noises like beeps and whistles and unfortunately the smoke detector.

Robin used to do that when I was with my ex, the household used to crack a lot of soda cans! We don't do that here, so he has since deleted that one from his repertoire of noises

I have a gcc, two budgies and a lovebird that constantly copy each other so well that it's hard to recognize is it original or copied. The only one nobody can copy (thanks God!) is the loud conure scream. And I also got a new cockatiel who was kept outside, and every morning he barks like a dog.

Rio my Sennie can do a cockatiel, crow, pattotlet, and we are working on a canary. She can actually do a canary, just not all the canary vocals.

My Sennie does a great cockatiel. It is sometimes hard to tell if the cockatiels are calling or if it is her.

Seems as though they really are quite good at copying noises then hey? When they replicate these noises.... Are they loud? or more quiet and cute? I know Sennies are the quiet Boise parrot, but quiet can still be annoying to your neighbour hehe.

My IRN copies my Sun Conure's noises....but he doesn't copy mine!...hasn't said one word! lol. maybe someday

The noise was actually quite surprising to be coming out of a little bird like that. It took me a couple of months before I figured out what it actually was. I rarely have soda pop but when I did bring one home and opened it up he immediately repeated the noise it made.
They can be loud but most of the time Sid is quieter and cute sounding. Right now he is beeping and whistling low to mid volume at me inside his cage trying to get my attention. (He is in trouble cause he bit me and drew blood twice today and I am flat out ignoring him for a while.) I would say that his natural contact call and his "protest" noise are by far the loudest noises he makes. They are high pitch and can carry through walls. My blue crowns are certainly louder but if I am outside I can hear Sid's high pitched noises before I hear Tootsie and Rosco's lower pitched ones. But if you have walls that have at least a little bit of sound proofing then I would not worry too much.

I live on a main road in London, and Rosie has picked up the squeaky/rattly noise that the window makes when a bus goes past!

Hahaha James, your little guy sounds cute.... Beeping for your attention!
He does it when I am out of sight even when he knows I am home though Tootsie is the driving force in the noise when they can't see me. I think he does it often when I am away cause I can hear him when I ride up on my bike before he knows I am back. 1 call about every 5-10 seconds.
