hi everyone, i am sometimes away for hours at a time and think it unfair on my jardine to sit in boredom. For this reason I was thinking of buying another jardine

facts about my jardine
-happy, healthy
-unknown sex
-1 year old

I would like to know other peoples experiences of adding another bird to an existing one for company. What are the chances that im taking? Please tell me more information

buying another bird is not for my own entertainment but for my parrots (I will love it too tho)... but i hate being selfish and having the bird rely on my schedule for its entertainment.

basically does :green1: + :green1: = :) ?

Not necessarily...
When you buy one more bird for ur bird, it is so essential for you to know its sex. Also, you need to bring it along and let your bird choose its partner...
In fact, you may choose another kind of bird for it...
Or, you may simply buy it some toys...

I agree, you need to sex yours because it's always easier for two birds of oppposite gender to bond - having said that, I have birds that prefer their same sex and/or birds of a different species (my Lesser Jardine is a female and her companion is a female Nanday) so it's always safer to let them choose.

Its been a while since this was posted. I have a question - there are two separate Jardine's for adoption. They are both males - one is 5 years old, prefers males, very social and outgoing. Other is 7 months old, shy and not very social. Can these two be brought together or is that a bad idea?
