My baby meyers is arriving in about a week. I'd like to go buy some seeds and nuts for him. There is an organic food store close by that sells bulk nuts and seeds. What are some
Good nuts and seeds to buy as treats and to mix in his diet?

Thanks!

Nuts and seeds are high in fat, of which Poi's don't really need much of.

It's best to use nuts as treats and generally avoid (unsprouted) seeds altogether.

Almonds, brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pecans, walnuts, macadamia, and pistachios are good for parrots (in-shell might be hard for a baby however). Avoid pine nuts and peanuts.

If you do want to sprout seeds, there are lists online (and parrot prepared seed mixes!) that you can find, and it's very nutritious for the bird.

Ensure your parrot is on a high-quality pelleted diet as soon as possible, supplanted by many fruits, vegetables, mash, and sprouted seeds.
