The other red bellied parrot! That the elderly lady had brought in. Honestly, I had no intention but I wanted to tell the workers there that the lady who had owned them had stick trained them to get them out of the cage so I showed him how I did it with Duncan. Well the sweet little thing who's not at all as confident and self assured as Duncan stole my heart

So here he is home with me! I noticed they forgot to trim his nails as they are awfully long so I'll bringing him back this week to have them done and get his vet appointment set up. His name has been changed from Graham to Griffin :)

Amazing! Glad to see more Red-Bellies popping up :D

Question I've been meaning to ask: I would assume a Jenday and a Sun Conure are much much louder than a Red Belly, but how does a GCC compare in both peak and average volume levels?

From some reason my GCC s noise aggravates me more than the Jenday or Sunday. I'm not sure why, no he's not as loud but there's just something about it. I can't really explain. More gravelly or something. Maybe YouTube has a video of one being loudish?

I noticed that Graham kind of just sits in one spot until I come in the room he is in and talk to him. Then he starts stretching his wings, playing with his toys and eating. This red belly is the untamed one that I don't think they had much hope for since he bit them all the time. I think all he needs is love and some sun on his feathers and of course the dowl stick to go in and out of his cage lol and he'll be alright :)

Congratulations! Yay, more Red Bellieds :). Graham is just as beautiful as Duncan.

It will be interesting to see the difference in individual personality within the same species and gender. Do you know if they are brothers?

One of the workers told me she might have gotten Duncan first and then the other one later on. I don't know this for sure though. This one seems a tad smaller than Duncan and has sort of a different kind of face than his. He doesn't have much of the yellow on his sides like Duncan has either.

Graham seems to prefer the name Griffin instead, so I hope there's room for another Griffin on this board! Today, when he was itching his head I asked Griffin if his head was itchy and he bent his head down to have me scratch it. See! He's not that wild! I think he was just stressed at the pet store and upset about not having a home. He also ate some almonds that I gave him by hand.

Absolutely there is room for another Griffin here :)!

2 Pois named Griffin, I think it's great! I'll have to tell him lol. I love the name for a bird because of what a Griffin is and represents. He's my second one with that name. First was spelled differently. Griffin is not really a tame bird now, but he sure stops and looks when I call his name!

I'm surprised that they said he was so untame and didn't care for either gender. I find that Griffin has more of gentle side than even Duncan has. He likes his head scratched and takes his almonds very gently. I think he was just misunderstood because he was scared and needed a slower approach. And he does talk as well! When he was on top of his cage today I heard him say, hi, honey. He says other things too. I believe he said good morning and some other things I haven't made out yet.

Yesterday he made his way to my shoulder all by himself and stayed there! I think he likes me :)

Here is a photo of him eating almonds. He has some funny feathers but has a vet appointment on Thursday to get all checked out. Hopefully he is ok.

He is so precious :)!

Do you have a bit of a hard time telling them apart being same species and sex, or are the individual differences enough at a glance?

Oh yeah, there's obvious differences, Griffin looks more scruffy (poor thing) and Duncan looks more sleek and in better shape.

They had a plucked Indian ring neck there that someone just gave to them, felt sorry for him too. I believe Griffin is happy to have a home again, he's a really good bird.
