Brown headed parrot

Hi all,

I have a brown headed parrot Zoey, and I live in the basement with her which has never been a problem, but over the summer I had kept her upstairs so she can look outside and she loved it. I also wanted her to get used to other people than me because she's bonded with me and is scared of everyone else so I wanted to expose her to more people than just myself. But my parents who live upstairs want a break as she can be very chatty and with winter coming its better for her to be downstairs where I can better control the temperature. However, since I've brought her down she is going through a depression and because I'm in school I can't spend every moment with her. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can keep her happy in this transition? She has plenty of toys to play with and I try and give her plenty of out of the cage time. I'm just at a loss of what to do and in many ways I'm still very inexperienced with birds and still learning new things every day.
