I would really like to get the cage & play area set up now to help Gracie start to acclimate to the change since it will be awhile to finish weaning then quarantine etc.

I'm trying to decide if a brown head is more likely to enjoy a large horizontal/flight cage/double flight or large play top. I know the bar space is 5/8 - 3/4 max but there is very little info on actual cage style/types that are more compatible with their style of play/behaviors.

Gracie has a huge corner cage - not that she's ever in it... it's really just where she keeps her toys & sleeps. Usually she's on the perches outside of it, on the play stand or with me but when she chooses to go in she has a lot of space to do as she pleases, lots of toys/perches/boing/ladders etc. She also has a play area on the top along with a large net for climbing, boing etc.

I'll be doing the same for the newest member of the family.

Thoughts or sharing your favorite cages would be much appreciated

My favorite cage always start with a full height front door and the door as wide as possible.

Second is a flat top with play area. You can choose whether you want to leave the catch tray in place or remove it. Removing it provide great natural light into the main body of the cage.

Third, always buy extra stainless steel bowls when ordering the cage, commonly you can work a deal as part of the cage order.
