My red belly parrot has been acting a bit strange. He managed to get stuck on a toy but seems to be walking around fine so no injury. But sense that incident hes been very finicky of my hand running from it. When he does get on he shreks a bit as though hes afraid. By observation and how he runs about his cage there is no injury for hes VERY active. Any pointers?

A couple of basics that may or may not apply.

Only good things happen when you (Humans) are around!

Start-over, like day one. Its possible, that something seen from the Parrots point of view has changed. So, start-over.

Treats - take a very good look at what you are feeding to determine if there is a favorite item. Pull that item from the supply and you provide it as a treat /reward.

I am about to bore a ton of members, but: Its NEVER the fault of the Parrot! It is ALWAYS the fault of the Human! Working from this vantage point, you will more quickly see what you are doing wrong and change it!

Enjoy!

FYI: If you are big into holding, petting, etc.. Your Parrot may not be that touchy feely.
