...and the hormones are flowing.

I don't normally let Sidney get too carried away with this and try to distract him with treats and toys or something else that will interest him. But this time I figured that I would keep my hand flat so he could not really get any contact and film him a little bit before the distractions started. Kind of curious if other Senegal companions see the same thing. Wings drooping, beak fluttering and that "fut fut fut fut" noise.

George does the exact same thing. Apparently you shouldn't let them do it on your hand as it prolongs the hormone period which can be physiologically stressful for the parrot.

When George does this on my hand I say "No George!" and I put him down until he stops fut fut futting and holding his wings down.

I normally do similar. Usually he gets plunked down on the arm of the couch or onto my leg if I don't have that laptop in my lap. If he gets very insistent, he will get a gentle toss in the direction of his cage though he will come straight back. The good thing is that the period of time that he is in this mode seems to be getting shorter as he gets older. He turns 10 next month.

Interesting....Smokey would do something very similar...arms out a bit...shaking them, and making little "noises"...but it was usually when she was on her roof top..didn't click until I saw your Sydney doing the same thing!
