What a little mess maker

I think this little Senegal makes more of a mess than my 150 lb Newfoundland that slobbers and sheds and loves to roll in mud.

I clean up after her All Day Long. It doesn't matter if I put her food over something that will catch whatever she drops, she just moves to another spot and flings it everywhere over there. Then she takes a bath in her water bowl every morning and acts all crazy when she gets out and jumps in her food dish flinging it everywhere like a nut case.

Not to mention the feathers that come off her, I could make a pillow out of them. Then she also likes to wipe her beak all over my rattan patio furniture. I have dried up scrambled eggs and apples and figs and whatever else you can think of all between the woven grooves.

I don't even want to know what kind of a mess a bigger bird would make.

I have similar issues with my Sennie. I have a large tray covered in paper in front of his cage to try to help catch most of the mess. It helps. But what really gets me is when he has finished eating and comes over to me with a beak absolutely loaded with vegetable remains and proceeds to clean his beak on my shirt. Absolutely no respect!

LOL, I can relate to that. Salty will wipe his beak on my shoulder and has ruined several dress shirts for work. Now, I put on an older t-shirt, if he has been eating and wants to come UP.

Lol. I clean Kiwi's area 3 times a week and within an hour, it looks as though I haven't cleaned his area in a month:rolleyes: And when I put him on his swing to clean his cage, he saves up a real big poop every time just to "christen" the freshly cleaned area with as soon as he's put back:mad: Parrots are atrocious mess makers, every last one of them.

Ha ha, be glad she's not an ekkie. They are their own special kind of mess makers, I swear. I never let any of the birds get under their cages, yet when I pull trays out to wash them, I've found mango cemented onto the center underneath Chickens tray. How does it get there? I have no idea. How does the fresh food get behind the chest freezer on the other side of the room from inside their cages? I have no idea how they did that either. They don't even spend time outside of their cages in the bird room, they come out of their cages into the living room where I have the play stands all set up. Plus they don't get fresh food on the play stands, but it still ends up in the living room. (My wife wanted to contain that particular mess to their cages, nice idea in theory.)

Haha! Bumble does it to me too, only I think it's cute. Everything I own is machine washable!

And even though she's a tiny bird, she can make a BIG mess!

Here's what's left of her breakfast and she hasn't even started with the seeds and pellets yet. I need to figure out another feeding arrangement for her other than on top of that coffee table. That is the absolute worst patio furniture to have with a bird.

I saw a huge bird stand with the feeding cups that connect right to the perch, but if I buy another stand with more toys to hang from it my husband is going to think I'm crazy.

That is a darling looking young Senegal. Those dark eyes, so innocent....and so cunning. ;)

Look at that darling face, practically a halo above her head. I don't buy that cutie made the mess. Must've been framed by her human or something:D

You know how we always talk about keeping our birdies busy and not letting them get bored? I think they talk about the same things with their bird friends. "making giant messes is a wonderful way to provide our humans with enrichment. Sitting on one hand so they have to do everything single-handedly is a great challenge and they love a puzzle! Bonus if you sit on their dominant hand. If we don't keep them busy, they will act out."

Yes, and I think she also thinks that I enjoy that sound she makes in the morning that sounds like a smoke alarm going off.
