Hey everyone! It's been a bit since I've been here, but I've acquired a new baby and have some questions!

His (or her, not sure yet) name is Bean, and Bean is afraid of nothing but people. I'm not sure why, I've known him since he was 2 months and took part in hand feeding him, and nothing that could be traumatic ever happened. He loves toys and cuddling with ME but also still begs me to feed him even though he's been off formula for about a month and is eating sufficient pellets and fresh foods.
He cowers, growls, and will bite if anyone else's hand gets too close to him whether I'm there or not. I have no idea where he picked up this behavior and he was well socialized everyday. I still try to socialize him but I've been getting the cower and growl.
So, how should I go about training him to step up to others, and be less fearful? He will even bite me if someone comes too close while he's on me.
Also, what should I do about the constant crying to be fed? I was given advice to try it again and hope he gets over the want for formula, and i was also given advice to ignore the cries because we don't want him to regress.

Thanks for reading :)

Get some formula and develop a new starting point! Sometime you just have to restart to develop a new comfort zone for your Baby! After all, everything that was stable in your Parrots life got turned upside down.

After a couple of days of formula as s/he wants, also restart socializing like before! Quickly s/he will halt the need for formula and your Baby will quickly adjust to your home.

It is likely that your Baby adjusts to things at a slower pace! Keep that in mind as you move forward.

how long have they been at your home? He could just be terrified of everything going on. Although hand-fed ETC the move can be in itself traumatic, especially if he was needing to be grabbed even gently. All he understood was he was grabbed by a hand put in whatever then his whole flock was suddenly gone. Being new it's understandable that they can be scared. Definitely just reset to a day 1 scenario and go at his pace

There are a couple of possible messages here:-
1 There is someone there I am not happy about, feeling nervous mum!
2 Why is this person approaching my mum?

Anticipate and reassure as a start. They usually look to you for cues. If you are OK and cool they will too hopefully.

god this suddenly makes so much sense thinking of their beak as a hand at the same time. Like a child suddenly grasping their parents hand when a stranger walks past

They really are just children

I will definitely be getting some formula and letting others feed him as well. He just bit my mom, he seemed cool and comfortable no signs of being scared or aggression and I was telling him it was okay, etc.. My mother was calm as well and has talked to him for many days, so she slowly moved her hand up and he continued to seem fine, but then he latched on and broke skin. It felt very out of place! I didn't force him and nor did my mother.
I suppose I will have to start over completely like you said, SailBoat.
