So my Meyer's, Charlie, just had a whole almond for the first time. I was hoping to expose him to a new foraging activity. However, when he reached the almond, he chucked it and continued to eat the shell. I've read on other sites that this could be dangerous. I took it away and he had only had about 1/4 of the shell eaten. I'm really worried I did something wrong..any words of advice or experience??

Yes best to only give shelled nuts in future. Chances are you will see some hard pieces in his poop soon. I expect some of the quarter was dropped anyway, keep an eye for anything amiss with Charlie as a precaution.
