Argh!

The little brat, Sidney, does it again!

If I get the evening munchies, I'll make myself up a glass of SlimFast. Works pretty darn well as a low cal snack. I use a hand mixer with a drink stirrer to mix it all up good because I use almond milk instead of regular and the powder does not blend as well with it. It is something that Sidney has watched me do from a perch on the kitchen counter hundreds of times.

Well tonight he decided for whatever reason that the blender had to die. In the middle of mixing up the drink he attacked it. It slipped out of my hand in surprise, knocked over the glass and slid out while running at high speed flinging chocolate shake all over that corner of the kitchen. It was all over the walls, under the cabinets, on the windows and blinds plus the 3/4 of the glass dumped onto the counter top, running off the edge and splashing across the doors of the lower cabinets. Not to mention that it was all over me from face all the way down to splash over my slippers. Took me the better part of a half hour to clean up the mess.

For his part, Sidney blasted off and shot back to his cage where he went inside to await me coming in to shut the door. With all that disaster, he didn't get a spot on him. He knows I was pretty ticked off. Even now, after the lights have been out in there for a half hour he is still making his unhappy "beeeeeeeeeeeep!" noise. I'm not in the frame of mind to forgive him tonight. But all will be well in the morning after I shake my finger at his beak.

Is just amazing how one little bird can be a such major disaster.

And I still smell like chocolate shake.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Definitely a bratty episode! Sidney is probably proud his servant is coated with chocolate while he escaped being tainted! You could have earned a consolation prize far worse than chocolate aroma!

Your story, is why people love conures.....INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE! Also maybe your bird was telling you to order a pizza for you both to share instead.

LOL..sorry!.. that's one reason I keep the fids in the living room when I'm doing stuff in the kitchen :D I was making chocolate chip cookies one night and as I opened the oven door, bratty Beebers flew from my shoulder to the open door! Luckily I was faster than he was and got the door closed before he fried himself

Sid is always locked up when I'm cooking. But he does like to hang out and snatch tidbits when I'm making up the morning chop or other activities that are not dangerous. Is a good time to interact with him normally cause so much of his attention is on me instead of everything else like he gets when he is not hungry.

Oh, I should have. Didn't think of it until later when I was writing the post.
