Okay, this may seem kind of strange sounding, but my Quaker, Sammy, loves to stare at his feet. He has done this ever since he was a baby (he will be 7 soon). He will stand on a flat surface, and put his head between his legs and just stay like that for a while. Sam does have some health issues, but overall is a healthy parrot. I did see a picture of Quaker doing this same thing in a Foster & Smith catalog a while back.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Or have any thoughts on what it might be?

Thanks!

Our African Brown head does this, he will also hold up a foot and stare at it.
It's a quirk and not related to health issues.

I am glad Sam isn't the only one who seems to like feet. He does seem to like everybody's feet, not just his own. He will chase you on the floor if you are barefoot.

He even does occasionally pull up just one foot and stare at it. I guess he finds his feet very interesting.

Ralph will attack my feet if I'm barefoot. :D Quakers do seem to like to chase feet; Mattie Sue Athan made special mention of it in her book Guide to the Quaker Parrot. :)
