I posted a couple weeks back and I finally took Mimi to the vet which now she is a confirmed he, not sure if i should change his name now but I did a check up and her weight seemed fine. While we were there I also had the vet trim his nails and his beak. However he is very quiet and tucking his head in now, something I've never seen him ever do. Is it from stress or depression, while he be okay, there was some blood when they trimmed the beak and I was very scared and although the vet assured me it was normal I am still very scared and worried. He also keeps picking at his trimmed nails and haven't eaten anything or drank any water since we got back from the vet which is like 3 hours now.

He is probably sulking, give I'm lots of love and attention because it can't be very nice to have all that done when you understand so little about what's happening and why. Probably picking because it may be uncomfortable but keep your eye on him and he will stop.

If he has stopped bleeding while at the vet I wouldn't worry now, just keep checking to make sure he doesn't bleed anymore.

Cuddles and love will do him the world of good!

It's pretty typical for parrots to be quiet after a vet visit. Some need to rest up and recover from the experience, and some do sulk a little, or punish their parronts for putting them through the ordeal of nail or wing trims.

Mimi's beak may be a bit sore for a while so she may do better with softer foods at first. Soak some pellets in unsweetened fruit juice or spring water to soften them; for now, she may prefer them soft and mushy. Try offering her other soft foods like cooked quinoa and oatmeal too.

Mimi's beak may not bleed any more, but you may want to keep some cornstarch or flour handy in case it does. Just moisten some slightly and dab it on to stop the bleeding. Check back with the vet too if there are any further problems.
