Quaker parrot, Ralph
Here is a picture of my Quaker parrot, Ralph. Ralph's hatchdate is October 1, 2009, and he's been with me for just a month.

He is quite big for 6 months (viewing from the pic), make sure you keep a chart of his weight.

Ralph says thanks for the compliments! Must be the picture makes him look big; his avian vet said that he's a bit smaller than average for a QP his age, and will probably stay that way. I'm not so sure about that, the way he can put away food! :D


I'm new to Quakers, and to having such a young parrot, so every day is a new experience for me-- and it's been fun. As I said in my Introduction post, I had a Yellow-crowned Amazon for 40 years. He was already a mature parrot when he joined the family, and a prolific talker. Ralph is just learning to talk, and is making good progress. He just loves saying "good parrot!"
