It is very dependent on the individual bird if they choose to do so or not. I have birds of the same species where some do and some do not. None of my Quakers ever did that I can remember, but it was a long time ago.

My female quaker approaches everything beak first, never uses her feet to hold food or toys. My male quaker uses his feet to hold food ant toys. :)

Ralph will hold some things in one foot to eat them. He's done that since I first brought him home when he was just less than six months old.

I have to laugh. Today Cabu was eating with his feet. I guess I could have waited and he'd answer my question for me.
