We are getting a baby Quaker at the end of August!
We put a deposit down on a baby Quaker a few weeks ago and we got to bring him home yesterday. He is almost 11 weeks old and his name is Ozzy. We only got the chance to meet him once but he came very tame and curious. He has been eating on his own for a little over a week. He is settling in easily and starting to figure out his cage and stand.
In the brooder and the cage after he was with 7 brother and sisters so I was wondering how he was going to adjust but he seems fine so far, not scared of anything although I haven't seen him drink in his cage yet but he did chew on some grapes. He will let us touch him everywhere and even grab him and set him where we want him with no fear or struggling at all I am VERY happy with our new baby Ozzy! I have owned birds before but this is my first baby so any advice or tips are welcome! Oh he hatched May 30th :D I will get some pics posted soon

Congrats on your new baby! I don't know much about quaker parrots as a species, but in general, all parrots need a roomy cage, lots of toys that are rotated frequently, lots of time outside the cage/socializing each day and a healthy diet that included lots of fresh produce. Play stands are also nice, and I know they sell a lot of absolutely adorable little "activity gyms" for parrots of that size:D

Can't wait to see some pictures!

Congratulations!!!!!!! Quakers are wonderful to have around. I raised one from a chick years ago and he was one of the smartest bird I've ever owned.

Thanks everyone! He has a big cage and an awesome homemade play stand that I am very proud of lol. We are going to feed Harrison's for his pellets, he still learning to eat its so cute to watch him figuring his feet out. He's still a little clumsy climbing but it defiantly doesn't stop him. I'm really glad went with a breeder she did an awesome job with him.

Welcome home, Ozzy! Quakers are amazing, and as Michael mentioned, super smart. Can't wait to see photos.
