I have an opportunity to add a 5 yr. old male quaker to our flock. What are the odds that blue male quaker will get along with the green male quaker? Would they be safe as playstand buddies or will they hate each other because they're both males? Advice please!

Congrats, looking forward to Mattie's homecoming pics! Will you quarantine your new new quaker?

It's hard to predict how any two birds will feel about each other. I have a male and a female quaker. They were both adults when I got them. They are not particularly fond of each other but they aren't aggressive toward each other. They play together outside their cages and can safely share a playstand. Be careful with those first close encounters.

They seemed to eat dinner together in separate cages.... Chatted a bit and we put them to bed early as everyone seemed tired. Expecting a lot of chatter in the morning! Mattie talks a lot and clear. Cosmo talks alot and most of it is clear. Mattie sings Bad Bird to the cops bad boys song and Cosmo whistles Andy Griffith.....so this is going to be interesting and fun!

Lol, you're right, two talking quakers will definitely be interesting and fun. One singing Bad Birds and the other whistling Andy Griffith, what a cute combo.

Oh my goodness! Speaks so clearly! Was that all by voice training, or did you use training dvds, i guess what im asking is if they picked it up just from you talking to them. My quaker says a few things but not that clear. He says kisses, does the kiss sound, peek a boo is his favorite, whatchu doin, he likes to call the dog "sophie" when he gets a treat he likes to tell me good bird haha. Im thrilled with the things he can already say hes only a year old. Juust curious if theres a better teaching method for clearer responses

He came to us knowing so many things. We've only had him for about a month, so everything he knows he learned from his parronts before us. She worked with him a lot, so he knows quite a bit. Puts his foot up to his mouth, makes lip smacking sounds then says Mmmm! Puts his foot up and says tickle tickle tickle. SO much more, too!

I can only dream that someday Sammy and I will get there, lol. He and I are still working on picking our foot up to wave. Mattie is fantastically cute!
