I know a little feathery guy (still unnamed) who is going to be getting very friendly with a stick if he wants food in his cage or to come out of his cage!

He just bit the c**p out of my hand from the knuckle on my thumb all the way up my hand/arm past my wrist! Drew blood in a couple places. And all for giving him his daily portion of seed mix, which he loves!

He has become very cage aggressive and his current cage is so small I just have to suck it up and go for it. He is fast as lightning and and is at the door of the cage as soon as I open the bedroom door!

He means to do me as much harm as possible for daring to put my hand in his domain.

I will be off to buy a stick/perch to start his training with as soon as I can close my office today, and he will start training tonight!

Maybe I should name him Rottweiler or Doberman. He may be small but man he can inflict some pain!

Paging Mr. Towel...

Attitude adjustment needed on aisle five...

Wrap your hand...

And if that doesn't work. Wrap the offending vampire bird...

"Knock it off!"

When Dexter was being a crankypants for a few days after our trip away from home, I used a small perch to protect my hands from bites (after he gave me some doozies). I wouldn't make him step onto the perch, I would put it into the cage ahead of my hand so he had something to bite on besides me. I have no idea if this was a good idea or not, as I'm new at bird parenting, but I had to do something to protect my hand from being bludgeoned when I had no choice but to reach into the cage.
