Hello
My Quaker is aggressive and trying to fix it but it's not going well. He was born in November and we were able to bring him home the last week of January. We met him at the end of December and saw him every week until we brought him home. When he was at the place where we bought him he was nice and pretty quiet and just wanted to sit and hang out, hardly tried to bite. But now since we've had him home (seven months now) he is very hard to get along with, he's not very friendly and does like to bite. It's almost like I brought home the wrong bird as there were 3 other blue Quakers and each bird had a mark or a certain wing feather notched so they knew what bird belonged to which person. I can never get him to come out of the cage, I open his door in the morning to take out the water bowls and refill them and he'll come to the cage door and sit on top and usually never comes off the door. Sometimes I'll open the door and 3 hrs. later he's still in the cage and doesn't want to come out. I talk to him all the time and he'll give kisses in order to get a sunflower seed. But that's about all I've been able to teach him. He used to do step up witch was taught to him before we brought him home but now he has no interest in doing it. When I can get him away from the cage he still wants nothing to do with anyone but he is a little friendlier and will get on your hand to pick him up but he'll only sit on your shoulder. We have noticed that when we go to the place that we got him from to play with the other birds there if there is another Quaker there he gets perked up and talks back. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
