It's very cool to have a potty trained parrot. I't's nice to have a parrot that will fly back to her cage door and poop on newspaper rather than on me or anything that belongs to me and certainly better than pooping on a guest. She never ever poops on her own things.

The only hang-up I've found is this. I expect my un-potty-trained parrots to poop on stuff, they're still learning. Harry on the other hand is perfectly potty trained and she NEVER makes a mistake. What's wrong with that, you may ask. When she does make a mistake, it isn't a mistake at all, its a well planned, mean spirited, grudge-poop intended to get back at me for some misdeed I'm usually not even aware of.

Today I was passing out dinner bowls, usually everyone's favorite, cooked quinoa, brown rice, oatmeal, apples, coconut, almonds and cinnamon. Everyone dived in except Harry, she perched on the side of her dish, squatted, (she makes it look quite vulgar) and pooped all over her dinner. Sammy and Sweet Pea, both with food beards were watching all bug-eyed. Harry was looking for a dramatic reaction, bobbing her head up and down and saying, Pee-Pee-Poo-Poo. I didn't give it to her, I replaced her dinner while quietly counting to fifty, ten wasn't nearly enough.

That rotten bird was sent here to make me crazy. She keeps it up and she's going to be able to describe the inside of the microwave to her buddy, Ripley.

Ok....so we're clear....

Laughing hysterically probably is not the correct response to reading this, is it?

Hypothetically, of course...

Hahahahahaha! Hilarity! That Harry keeps me in stitches, Allee! Always loves messing with his mom. The downside of having such an intelligent parrot, no? They can have a wicked sense of humor!

And I know just what you mean about it being extra bad when they're potty-trained. Jolly does it occasionally as well, though the reasoning behind it is less mischievous than sweet. It usually happens when he's especially enjoying a hang out session with me. You'll see the usual signs. He'll pace a little. Get a little antsy. Then crouch as though about to spring and fly off to his cage...

...only to get this look on his face like, "Things are really good right here. I don't REALLY need to fly over to the treestand, do I?"

If I'm too late in noticing "the look", I'm wearing green and white on my shirt. And those of you with birds strictly on fresh know we're not talking neat little spirals, here. Sploosh! Your shirt is COMPROMISED! That spot is sorely sodden. There's no quick wipee fix. It's time to go change. Smh.

Doc, Harry has a gift for making people, and the other parrots laugh, it's usually at my expense.

You are so right about fresh food diets and the 'sploosh'. Jolly's reasons for the occasional mishap are, while maybe not welcome, are at least understandable. Poppy seldom misses the paper but given the right opportunity, she will poop on me requiring an immediate wardrobe change. They do have a sense of humor.

Wendy, we're moderators, we should be ashamed for threatening our precious birds with something as horrible as the microwave. I know our threats probably keep them awake at night.

Oh, that Harry! :D

I used to threaten George the YCA that I'd donate him to the zoo when he misbehaved. He always laughed at me when I did that. I've tried that on Ralph too, and when I tell him I'm going to donate him to the zoo, he nods his head enthusiastically. I'm not sure how to interpret that.

Sweepea does that as well...

Not gonna pick me up right now?! Well then here's a pretty present for you...

She PLOPPED ONE INTO MY DRINK the other day. Waddled over to the branch directly above it, fired one, and hit the target... SPLASH...

This is the same bird that got mad when I had my hands full and couldn't do anything about it, pinched me and twisted, then looked me square in the eye and said "Owww, that hurts!"

Yes, they can definitely be stinkers...

And we're laughing because we've been there...

Okay, that's a lie! We're laughing because it wasn't me THIS TIME! :D

Nah, Allee, I'm pretty sure they are laughing their feathered behinds off behind our backs. I could have sworn I heard Ripley giggling in his sleep the other night. :21: Pleasant dreams to my big red trouble maker. :D

Thank you, Mark! Now I'm LMAO, but only because the bird that pooped in your drink is bigger than the bird that pooped on her own dinner.

Both my quakers pinch me and say Oww and Stop It for me.

OMG this is funny.

Serious did he really say Pee-Pee-Poo-Poo. ?

EPIC

Harry says pee-pee poo-poo quite often, it's one of her favorite phrases and the little goblin has taught my GOOD quaker to say it too.

Wendy, they are sweet when they sleep aren't they? I hope my little green booger has pleasant dreams too. She's been sleeping in her tiki hut, I know because she forgets to make her bed.

Bacca (Quaker)
Bacca sits on the perch in my office and she would say "step up" when she wanted attention, but she'd be out of my reach so I'd tap on the end of the perch and say "Come here."

We were in the car one time and I cracked up because she made the tapping noise followed by "come here."
