Harry's New Happy Place

I am overjoyed to announce, Her Majesty has graciously accepted her new living space. I shamefully admit I had contacted several companies about a safe non toxic powder coating for her previous cage just in case the Royal Lady refused the gift and started yanking her feathers, or mine. Happily after only one afternoon of tantrums and obscene language Harry made the new cage her own.







It's public knowledge that we all bow to Harry's will, no matter how ridiculous. Her old cage was great but was beginning to rust and peel, Harry's favorite place to bathe is in her water dish. Her previous cage was originally purchased at a bird mart, more than likely overstock. Harry's dad searched until he found a very similar cage, same color, doors and dishes in the same places, the new cage is taller but close to the same size. To Sammy and Sweet Pea's delight, the new cage came with a play top.

Sammy has officially claimed the new play area for his own.






Sweet Pea likes the play top too but when I was taking photos, she was visiting her budgie buddies.



I had to include this pic. Sammy was doing his best to convince me, any and all cage tops are community property, he was only volunteering his building skills to improve the appearance of the common play area. Why wouldn't Piper and Twinkle appreciate an original Sammy masterpiece on top of their cage?

Wow! Harry's new palace is nice Allee! Only one night of profanity, you know she loves it lol. I don't blame her. It's really a great cage, and made even better with your artistic flair.
I wish my "flock" got along! They need to take notes from your girls (and Sammy) .

I like that string toy that you could see in the 4th pic. With straws and beads. Similar to something Robin has. I'll have to steal that idea for Griffin!

Thank you, Julie! I still can't believe Harry was such a sweetheart about the move! That's not like her, she's very picky about her things. The set up isn't very creative but Harry likes it, that's what matters. I'm glad we have a pretty peaceful flock, for the most part. The quakers are the biggest troublemakers but they treat each other pretty well.

Hahaha, I ordered the string toy after I saw Robin's similar toy. That's a popular toy, I've replaced the beads and straws several times already.

Oh so Robin's favorite toy inspired you . Robin's is made of shoelaces. He can play with it for hours sitting on his boing.

Wow what a Posh Palace and Wonderful home Harry has and that community play top on the roof is Amazing and the whole flock seem to be loving it. Lovely cage ... my guys are jealous ...Love all your flock too they are Adorable

I'm relieved that Her Highness accepted the new adobe without much more than a cuss-fest. (Which we all know might've been due to the cage... or because your resident Bad Girl had deemed that particular day of the week a good one for cursing up a blue streak. "Yup. This looks like a fine day for some #*&@^$% expletives!" Lol!)

You have such a knack for making toys, Huckleberry! If you lived any closer, I think I'd have to kidnap you for a bit so you could share some of that magic with my flock!

Harry, Sammy and Sweet Pea are all looking good, my friend.

Doc, you know her so well! Harry truly enjoys a good cuss fest! Thanks for the compliment, Doc! You have a special kind of magic too, My Friend! Can you imagine what Harry would do if I asked her to bring me a colored ring? The little rogue would probably bring it, pierce my face and hang the ring in it.

Wendy, poor little Sam is smitten with Harry! He makes a fool of himself daily. He loves mist showers but now he bathes in his own bowl when he sees Harry bathe in hers. He can say everything she can say minus the naughty words, my sweet boy. She let him enter her old lair but now she guards the entrance of her new place and he hasn't been inside the palace yet. I haven't informed him he should probably abandon all hope of a serious relationship with the love of his life.

Thank you, Terry! I told Joe, Harry needed a new cage before he could spend more money on his various hobbies. He found an awning company that had bought a shipment of new but discontinued cages, the play top had a design flaw that took Joe about ten minutes to fix while he was putting the cage together. It was a great deal and it's built like a tank.

Tracey, thank you! That's so sweet coming from a great parront like you. Plus, you're Canelo's mom, you know I love your dog.

I'm sure there's plenty of wigwams in Sammy's future. I think the little guy is trying to build Harry her own version of the Taj Mahal. Good luck with that, Sammy.

Scott, you are so right, My Friend! She's a trip, she takes issue with things most parrots would like or at least not descend into madness over. Thankfully we have discovered a lot of her hot buttons. Here's a for instance, she loves animated movies and cartoons, she whistles and laughs while watching, Sponge Bob Square Pants causes her to go into an instant rage, can't really say I blame her but her reaction is way over the top. I've apparently pleased her, she's been calling me Cameron all day, her pet name for me.

Please no! I hope Harry never learns to 'flip the bird'. Bless her wicked little heart, she can get the same point across in plain English. We never tell Ms. Harry to use her words.

Hahahahahaha! Harry's an innovative bird. Likely the only thing stopping her is being short a digit.
