New Quaker Owner

I just adopted a Quaker parrot on November 18. His previous owner was sick and was taken out of her home and her birds were left behind, and taken to a bird shelter near me. No one knows how old he is or the gender. This is my first time having a bird but I've done a lot of research. I don't have a concern though. He hasn't done any talking and doesn't do much screeching. I know some birds just won't talk but my concern is he makes this noise that sounds like someone cracking their knuckles. I don't know if he's making that noise on purpose or if something is wrong with him. Any ideas advise ?

Nice to see this little one found a loving home and good for you for taking him in. He is a beautiful bird and he looks to be healthy, but you may want to take him for a check-up.
Is it possible to get a video of him making the noise? There may have been a continuous sound in the home that the quaker has picked up. They pick up sounds and words very quickly. Good luck.

Congrats and thank you for adopting that sweet bird! Can't help you with the noise he's making but it's probably something he picked up from his former environment. If he's anything like my Nacho birdy, he'll probably be pretty quiet for a couple weeks while he gets to know his new place and his new flock (you!) I'm also new to birds. Never had one before this year and I'm sorry that I waited so long. I hope you enjoy your super cute birdy as much as I do mine =)
