Quaker problem?

Quaker (Alex)
4 month old Blue/Yellow/White Parakeet (Tuna)
Alex, my quaker parrot is growing quils on his head and down his neck. Is this a sign of a respiratory infection?

Most likely, it means that Alex is molting. The quills are new feathers growing in.

Most likely, it means that Alex is molting. The quills are new feathers growing in.

Absolutely, what cnyguy said. Quakers look like pincushions before they shed the quills and show off their shiny new feathers.
