Quaker Vids

Anyone have any videos of their Quakers. I love watching them and seeing their body language might help me understanding mine better.

I love seeing videos of all Parrots though, I've really fell in love with them, is there a thread on here of any?

Found a cute one of Xander getting sleepy I seem to have turned a lot more feminine since I got him lol, that happen to anyone else lol x

I LOVE quakers.

they are the most adorable tiny two toned teddy bear parrots.

we have a couple of flocks of them in our neighborhood.

recently the local utility company destroyed about five huge nests with dozens of quakers in each. I heard that a shelter took in the birds for adoption outside of jersey.
it was sad.

I didnt mean for this post to be such a downer.


on a lighter note when I go down to the park I see four of them hanging by an apple tree.
you would be amazed at how they chatter and communicate with each other and how agile they are.

gotta love those quakers.

Awww that's horrible I know they are known for destroying ecosystems in the wild though and considered pests. Must be amazing to see them in the open and hear them Don't get to see exotic birds over here in England.

They do love apples, Xander is addicted lol, if I want to get him to eat something new I just mash apple in Got him from seeds to pellets in 4 days and now he eats them on there own.

I have seen a bunch of Quacker vids on YouTube. One in particular that sticks out is of 'Franky"..quite the character he is.

Wade your Quaker is amazing, how he just lays there and lets you stroke him and sings along with you, what a beautiful little guy he is, I love his colour

Your Quakers are beautiful too Allee, what was Sam building? I'm fascinated its all new to me. I've heard Quakers are excellent builders, look at those nests wow. What kind of things do they like to build and what with? I've got to get some for Xander.

Happy belated Hatch day Wilson you've got to tell me about Harry too Allee that made me laugh The one and only for the sake of mankind loool.

I get so excited lol I cant get enough of them.

Good job raising your little Quakers guys, they all look so healthy and happy and busy (Sam) and what great set ups too, I love seeing nice big cages and lots of toys and things, brilliant guys thank you so much x

You'll notice in the cucaracha video the Mumble bird is behind an object in his cage and is therefore unable to see the camera. He's very camera shy, just like your guy.

It's Mumble. Mumble Mumble Mumble. Not Nacho. No mas Nacho por favor. I believe I had mentioned that before but maybe I wasn't perfectly clear. My Mexican ex-girlfriend named him Nacho and since she's out of the picture that name doesn't fly around here anymore. Sorry to be harsh buddy but I want to get that name thing straightened out once and for all.

Thank you for the kind words, Carl. I'll try to answer your questions but please don't let Harry ruin your delight with the quaker species, Harry may not be a real quaker, she's more of an entity. Harry insisted I rescue her from a pet store about four years ago, she must be a magnet, we now have a U2, three quakers, an Amazon, a Congo African Grey, a cockatiel and two budgies, we blame Harry.

**Sammy's sticks are grapevine and crepe myrtle, if you harvest them yourself it's important to be certain the trees have never been sprayed with insecticide, scrub the sticks in hot water and a dash of bleach or vinegar with a bristle brush and bake them in the oven for about an hour at 250*F. Make sure they are completely dry before use.

I just looked at the posts you attached...you have an amazing flock there lol.
I'm starting to really enjoy reading about these sweet birds,and with their amazing color mutations..Wade's Na..MUMBLE! is so dang cute...blue being my fav color anyway. Anytime Wade post's a pic of his little guy I wanna rub my nose in his soft little belly ( Mumbles belly...NOT Wades! )

And Inger's sweet Bumble ( even though Bum is a parrolett)...little fids with huge personalities

Allee, thank you so much for this its awesome and I really have enjoyed reading your posts and seeing all the pictures I cant get over the great personalities they have.

I didn't even know I liked Parrots until a month ago when I stumbled across some Quaker videos on youtube and just fell in love, I cant get enough thank you, what a bright and beautiful little flock you have, or big flock should I say all so interesting in their own individual way.

It must be great coming home to those guys every day and I defiantly want another Quaker or two once I'm more experienced and Xander is settled and happy and the most exciting thing is seeing them grow up and what personalities they will have.

Xander has already said hello once and says woof woof sometimes because he can hear the neighbours dog lol and he loves throwing things and being high up and thinking he is an eagle ready to dive bomb his prey. He tried swooping me last week and thought he could pick me up by my head lol.

He may have building skills too lol like Sam as he's more interested in taking things down than playing with them, we will see lol
