My rescue QP, Jackson likes broiled chicken. We use it for the top of dog food for our dogs. I gave some bite sizes to the QP and he eats it and likes it??:(

I'm not taking the mickey - genuine answer here.
My chickens love chicken.

As do the rest of the flock.
Litte bits of meat/protein are fine :)

It may sound weird, but it's no weirder than when we primates eat other mammals.
I've known of many bigger birds who eat meat and bones (cooked, of course) of chicken.
The Rb will eat bacon if he gets a chance, which is rare!

Although a small amount may be okay on a *rare* occasion, you don't want to make a habit out of it. Too much protein for them isn't healthy.

Eggs are a more common "protein" item that's fed to birds.

Both Ralph my QP and Scooter my CAG like chicken (and turkey too), and they both get a little when I make chicken for my dinner.

Rio (Yellow sided conure) sadly no longer with us
not uncommon for them to like chicken but as said make it a very small amount very rarely.

now when they get a taste for beef mince like mine did is when it starts getting odd!

Yellow Shoulder Amazon, Salty
As others have said, a small bit of chicken meat is OK, once in awhile. No skin - too much grease and Parrots can not digest it. My Amazon, Salty, likes chicken bones a lot more.
A leg bone or big wing bone and he is happy for 20 minutes. He eats the marrow, not the bone.

So to answer the question, no your Quaker is not weird.

Wrench we had a roast last night and I was too scared to give them an actual bone. Got a dog, have learnt it as a no no because of him, I think.

How would I do it? Just remove the meat off the leg and give them the bone underneath?

Levi likes chicken, but loves eggs. He also prefers the bones over the meat itself.
My hubby says, it’s kind of cannibalistic :D haha
