Hi, i’m new here, so hopefully i’m doing this right.
Today i’m cleaning my quaker parrot’s cage after two weeks (usually i clean it every week, but i since it takes me a lot of time, I couldn’t find a moment to clean it last week...) and i found A LOT of feathers. I’m a bit worried because i’m not an expert and they seem a bit too many. I’ll post a picture just to give an idea. Those are fethers that have fallen in his cage (he stays inside the cage only in the morning, and then i keep him outside in the afternoon until evening).
This is my first spring with a parrot, so i don’t know if feather loss is normal in spring, but just to make sure i wanted to ask someone that is more experienced with quakers and/or parrots in general.
Do you think he’s plucking?? Please let me know.
Thanks in advance ^^

If you don't see any lacks of feathers in plumage, all should be ok. Like above - it's hard to say looking at only feathers

Agreed with the above post. While some feather loss is normal during molting time, a picture of your bid would help us better to see if there are any spots or feathers missing.

Actually, I’d argue additional phots aren’t necessary. You’ve got the two main feathers there and they are completely in tact(you have the full base in tact/not chewed up). And the grey down feathers...incidentals.

When my boy molts you can create a whole other bird just by the amount that falls in 1 night.

I’m 100% certain you’re going through a molt.

Thank you all so much for your answers! ^^

Here are the pictures, if you wanted to still have a look.
Imo he looks pretty normal, tho he has kind of messy feathers under his wings...
I could only take a picture of under the right wing, but the left looks about the same ^^

I agree with Chris - they look molted. I could have played build-a-bird with the feathers that I found in my cockatiel’s cage yesterday. I would worry if the feathers look chewed at the base and yours appear to be naturally shed. And your guy doesn’t look patchy anywhere...pretty cute little dude!

That is very likely just molting. I don’t see any bald patches anywhere, and the lost feathers are all intact. Your quaker is adorable :)
