Plucking?

Hi everyone,
recently i’ve noticed my quaker playing with his lost feathers. I’m a bit worried, because he chews the calamus a lot, but i don’t know if he’s chewing it only after the feather has fallen, or he is plucking, and once he has lost the feather, he keeps chewing it. Does anyone know about this behavior?
