Next thing you know, Neptune will be demanding champagne and caviar. 
This isn't the first time I've heard of a parrot with a taste for red meat.

My macaw loves beef, I know it's not good for him so he gets it like once a month if that and only a tiny piece. It usually makes him go "om om mmm om", it's so cute. It's always fully cooked, hope your quaker is fine, he ate the best part of the cow, what a thief. lol

Really our fids crave red meat?! Crazy!
It was melt in your mouth good! He has good taste. Just surprised the heck out of me. He ate a half inch cube with gusto, then he dive bomb the plate I guess to lick the blood ..eww

It is easy to forget that our Parrots (and birds in general) are opportunists in there natural settings. Hey and if a stray filet mignon happens by, it only makes sense to grab the protein and make off within.
Hmmm, sounds like a plan that had been in the makings for sometime. And such a well timed plan it was; swoop in and make-off with a cube like that takes planning.
As far as his health, a little intake will likely quickly change his stool for one of two passages, but nothing much past that. The danger comes with the on-going exposure to extensive protein intake. Its that well balanced diet thing our doctors keep reminding us about.

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
That is too funny! And I thought Amy was the only Karny-voir! Just the other day I was munching on a sausage and pepper grinder and went to the kitchen for a drink. On returning to this room,there was the big green dino at my plate,with a hunk of SAUSAGE in her claw,happily tearing it a part and noshing away ( no need to worry..I like ALL meat well-done! blood gives me the heebie-geebies ) Good for you Neptune!!

He had just eaten his veggies, zucchini, cucumber, parsley. I don't know how he had room!
Poops looked ok. He seems fine.
