We got a new Quaker yesterday. His name is Mr. Jingles...lol...he love the sound of metal jingling. His very sweet, and we are so exicted. :D

We are very busy today, working on getting the screendoor put on the bird room, and making birdsafe screens for the windows. I'll try to get pics in a few days.

Can't wait till ya'll can meet my flock..;)

Thanks, we feel bless with the new addition. We really enjoy our new fellow, although it looks like he will be a daddy's boy...:17:

Blue and Golds are beautiful, aren't they? I would love to have a Severe Macaw....maybe someday.

Mr. Jingles is has settled in quiet well....he seems to be in the same house with other birds. He was the only bird, in a house of cats.. .lol..in his former home.

He has been somewhat resistant to eating fresh foods, but yesterday I did get him to take a cereal and chop veggie mixer from a spoon, and it looks like he might have ate some that I put in his bowl...instead of pushing it to the side.

He loves to get out of his cage and perch on our hand and talk to us in his own unique birdie language...lol. Next week, I am going to let him start to have direct contact and interaction with the other birds his size. I am sure he will enjoy some flock time with the other fids.

That is good news, let us know what he makes of the flock, and maybe some pics, that would be good. :D

Sisqo has become a snob. If I make him a plate at dinner, and set it at 'his' spot at the table, he won't even touch it anymore. Instead he charges right on over to me and tries to take it right from my fork! So now he gets his own fork, and I have to feed him while feeding myself. Hmmm....I wonder what it will be like with two

Probably if you kept giving it to him on a spoon then he would take it.

Thats easy its called the "Birdie Diet" :D they eat you don't

:jumping40

Speaking of diets, having birds has improved our diet...we are eating much of a variety of fruits and veggies....my husband comes home and asks "What's for dinner?", I reply..."Whatever the birds are eating!"..lol.

Mr. Jingles is finally eating some wholesome food...:) His former owner had him on a all seed diet.....so it's taken some effort to get him to try his veggies.

I have a feeling if he had been born human he would have been a meat and potatoes kinda guy.:18:

You'll probably find that now he realises that you are not trying to poison him with this strange food, he'll start trying little bits, I know with my little Errol and Flynn (rosella & red rump) it took me nearly a year before they would even look at it. Now as soon as the veggies are put in the cage they are the first ones to it. :D
