Just wondering if anyone has insurance for their fids and what sort of things their insurance covers and their price.

Would like to here from all of you, especially if you're from the UK :)

I'm looking at getting Merlin insured when we're done with his physio (can't insure whilst there's still a medical issue being treated etcetc.)

Would like peoples thoughts on insurance and all in the info they can pass my way about it! :)

I do have two cats -Riply & Nano bites-
four snakes- china, dip & stick, and Grand Chahee-
I think you might need to go threw a pet insurance company, as I live in alaska, there are only two pet insurances that only a few vet clinics use, so Id do alittle asking around.

I have no clue of the prices, but spending 2500. on a dog two years ago that I had to have put down anyway, I have a company that covers me, that I can make payments to, if anything goes wrong. like my kitty eating string and having to spend 700. to make sure she was going to be fine.

I'm looking at getting insured with Exotics Direct. I know if Merlin ever got into trouble I don't think I'd have the 'mass' savings needed for all the possible surgery and medication. (I do at the moment but...)

Ask your main vet clinic first! I almost got another plan by a diffrent company, but when I contacted my vet clinic, they said they only go with two companys, (the one I have, is a pay up front, then make payments to) and another one that I had to pay around 100 dollars a month to.

So be sure that the clinics around you accept it first. otherwise you pay for nothing, and if your bird gets sick, you have no way of taking care of him.
