What kind of music do your birds like? What do you put on for them, if anything, when you're not at home?

I've been putting my "relaxing" playlist for my caique. She seems okay with it. She really likes this one track called "Amazon Rainforest" that has new agey music and parrots. I'm looking for more though.

Ralph likes jazz, standards (Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald are two of his favorite singers), 60's pop/rock (he's a big fan of the Beatles :)) and some classical music. I usually leave a "light jazz" station on for him when I'm not home.

George, my YCA, loved opera, and anyone who sang loudly or off-key. :18:

Dusky likes to sway & dance to my voice in a sing songy beat. Its rare when he does to music. He loves toddlers voices singing or chattering.

I haven't tried different music types with River yet to see what kind he likes. When we leave the house, I leave on Nick Jr for him. Maybe Dora the Explorer will teach him how to count in Spanish! lol

Keats (budgie) born Feb. 18, 2011, and Raphael (budgie) adopted July 3, 2011. Finn, a Brown-Head Poicephalus, born January 4, 2010, has also joined the family!
My budgies love the quieter, more melodic forms of classical music - particular if played on piano. The soundtrack from 'Rango' was a hit the other day, too (we watched the movie together) :) Mostly, they like melody...nothing too intricate or complicated, nothing that is primarily tonal in composition.

That's hilarious! Butwipe! My girl loves Bowie as I used to put on Labyrinth for her to watch each day. She would ignore it till Bowie came on then she would lean towards the tv and watch avidly till the scene changed. She's in love with Bowie! My partner plays the guitar to them each day and they love that, Zeus really quietly sings along, but Zeus HATES ACDC! He flaps and screams till the song stops. My partner thinks if funny but I just think its annoying (and so does Zeus!)

That's hilarious about Bowie and Labyrinth. His hair looks sort of like a parrot's head the way it sticks up. Maybe your bird thinks Bowie is a large parrot in the movie LOL.

My lovebird loves my cell phone ringtones, and watches it intently when I start playing the different tones. He'll try and fly over and land on it, if I'm holding it away from his cage.

Vince loves a video called "Bird Song Opera". Both to listen to and watch. Mozart's Magic Flute accompanied by dozens of bird vocals. Actually I really like it too. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMXD4h5w8D8"]BIRD SONG OPERA - YouTube[/ame]

Interesting, interesting!

The Rb likes high-ish female voices and a strong bass. It was Paula Abdul in the 90s and these days it is Jennifer Lopez. He had a great version of Paula's "Rush, Rush", and has a very bizarre version of J-Lo's "Booty" chorus which I will spare y'all, having assaulted the Forums' ears several times before!
