Bob is fully flighted, and I just made a paper airplane. I was wondering if it would be ok to throw the plane around Bob to allow him to chase it if he wants to. The plane is blunt and I won't throw it at Bob, just through his line of site.

Anyone see a problem with this idea as I will knowingly not endanger Bob.

I would be worried it's only going to scare Bob.

Isn't that the normal parrot reaction to everything we do to be interesting or fun and everything we think so hard about and plan for?

Then they go and have a blast with the unfolded paper that has not yet been made into a plane.

Just saw this thread & had to laugh. I spent another, say, $30 on toys & toy-parts-to-make-into-toys for my husband's amazon.

Right now he's playing with the cardboard . . . Quite happily, I might add.

And plastic bottle caps and straws. My mom works in a factory that makes medecine bottles and caps. No meds there, just the bottles so they are all very sanitary. She brought me all kinds of various sizes of caps for River to play with, along with some of those small travel size pill bottles that I put buttons in one, and am going to get some small bells, etc for the others. He rolls them around on the bottom of his cage, and likes to play "mommy fetch" with the caps.

I don't see why not! If you're worried, you could make sure the point of it isn't too pointy.

I tied a roll of toilet paper to the inside of Puck's cage. It's his favorite toy so far. I also weave paper towels in and out of his bars, or tie them in knots on his cage bars, and he likes to go nuts on them. :-D
