so my parrot came over to me today while i was laying down i started scratching his head and preening his pin feathers a little because he was itching his head earlier nothing unusual then he started like putting one foot on my hand hopping around and then climb on my hand hopped off bouncing around im wondering if this is his way of trying to mate with my hand or something or just him being a weirdo? i didnt pet his back or anything so idk

LOL! That was the most awkward bird sex attempt I've seen!

Puck tries to mate with my hand (and my boyfriend's hand) from time to time. I was SOOOO freaked out the first time he did it, but now I'm used to it and just try to change the subject when he does it... And I had been worried that he didn't like me!! LOL

The back-petting thing only applies to girl birds, because males grab on to the feathers on their "shoulders" to help mount them. My mom's cockatiel would masturbate by rubbing her back on things. XD
