Does anyone know of a treat I could try with my Too for training? I have tried different things, but can't seem to find something that he really likes.

Our conure loves these yogurt dipped sunflower seeds, we get them at the pet store, they are pretty small for a too but they make bigger ones for larger birds. Our alex will eat pretty much anything if it's put in her cage, but she is really picky about which things she will take from our hands. The one thing I have found that she really can't resist is popcorn. I just buy the containers of plain popping corn, place a handful of them in a paper bag and through it in the microwave for a couple minutes. It pops just like the bag popcorn but it doesn't have all of the salt and butter on it, and it's much cheaper.

Ooh, popcorn is a good one!! My conure loves safflower seeds, but those are probably too small for a 'too too. I think you could make yogurt drops if you can't find the yogurt covered sunflower seeds. I've never tried it but I think you make them by putting them on wax paper and freezing them? Think yogurt hershey's kisses :D You can make them as big as you want! Does he like fruit? Maybe you could use apples with peanut butter :). Or yogurt and apples. Lol!

Thanks for the wonderful ideas! He is very picky! I have a hard time getting him to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, but I bet he would love popcorn or peanut butter! Thank you!!

You can make yogurt drops in a dehydrator or the oven... Oil a sheet, drop yogurt by dollops, dehydrate for 4-6 hours or in the lowest setting in the oven for I believe an hour or two. Good for trail mix, too! :)

Put 4-5 different treats in your hand or where you normally give treats from... Put away (or write down) the first treat he takes... Repeat with another 4-5 different treats... Repeat and repeat... Now you should have 4 of his very best treats... Offer all of these, and the first one he takes will be the very special treat to use for something he finds very difficult... The other 3 you can also rate that way...

Hope this makes sense.
