Re: Does anyone know how to sex a pearl pied cockatiel?

I've got a pearl pied baby right now that im still handfeeding. I am pretty sure it's a girl. They're harder to visually sex because of their coloration. Do you know how old they are. Sit with them awhile and listen, only boys sing!

Re: Does anyone know how to sex a pearl pied cockatiel?

As many babies I've raised in the past I can usually sex them pretty good just by being around them even when they're young. Its really not complicated once your used to it. But if your unsure, only males sing, easiest way to sex them!!!

Re: Does anyone know how to sex a pearl pied cockatiel?

So only male cockatiels sing? I also have a cockatiel (dont know the gender) and it sings. The pet store I got it off said it was female, but they said it was a guess. so yea xD

Re: Does anyone know how to sex a pearl pied cockatiel?

You can still sex pieds pretty easily by looking under their wings. You would see dots in a row from primary feather connecting all the way to the secondary feather to the body.
