Does anyone know any fun games to play with your parrot? Peek-a-boo seems to be a popular one, any other suggestions?

Kazi - 13 yr old yellow nape amazon rescue
Sometimes when Kazi seems like he's getting twitchy and bored we'll play 'tourist' and I'll take him into a room he's not usually in and just point out and talk about all kinds of stuff in the room. "This shelf is where we keep the cat food. Those {bad word}s cost me a ton! One day I'll stop feeding them and I won't have to buy any more litter either. And this is the shelf we keep the spices on. Holy crap! This cinnamon expired 4 years ago!" so on and so forth. He seem to enjoy it and I get to be ridiculously silly. (and find expired spices)

We also like to play catch. I'll tie a piece of tissue paper in a knot and toss it at him. If he's perched behind my laptop it often wedges right at his feet. He'll pick it up and throw it at me and we'll do this until he gets sick of it.

I also make foraging toys for him using his favorite treats and small cardboard boxes, paper cups or toilet paper tubes. I'll let him see me put something awesome in it and I'll close it up and give it to him. He rarely eats anything because he usually just ends up dumping it out, but he has a blast and gets to be destructive and sometimes ends up with a treat too. It also keeps him out of my hair for a few minutes!

I also play a version of "catch" with my bird.
I roll a wiffle ball to him and then he grabs it, shakes it, then does a beak tap on the ground with a little victorious screetch... :) ...rinse and repeat.
It's a good way to get his aggro side satiated.

We also play birdie blocks.... a box with various shaped wooden blocks that fit into the box perfectly, ... pattern blocks.
He picks and removes the blocks and mouths them or whatever he does.... and i work diligently to fit the pieces back into the box so they all fit back in.. lol.

My fave tho,... (not really a game) is to give him a single, various whole nut and then i watch him use his beak magic to absolutely destroy the shell as i sit mesmerized as he extracts it.

The later is a game i enjoy more than the bird, perhaps.

I play "tourist" with them as well. Although that is how I first learned my Nanday knew a cuss word. The wind was blowing really hard and the big Spruce in front of my bow window in the living room was dancing in the wind. Rowdy yelled, "Oh, holy ****!" And I just said to myself, oh boy.

When I took her cage into the bathroom a few days ago for a good scrub down, I took her with me to watch. Usually she goes into the extra cage when I do that. But, she had a ball watching me clean it.

nuts like an old woman!!! (now)

we use to play tickly toes, but it excited her to much an she ended up biting hard, she would roll on her back make grunting/purring sounds an we touched her feet, and she would pretend beak us, she always initiated this

we tried catch with a wiffle ball, but 3rd toss an she bit me, as if to say, i aint getting it, if all your gonna do is throw it

her fav is toe hunting, but not my feet after the synthetic shoe lining incident! but she happily chases my sons toes, when she catches a toe she kinds clings on, with her beak an feet, very tickly!!!

but she loves watching me prep food before cooking, or doing anything with my hands, but for the most part i try to keep things calm for her as i have a problem with being bitten (but i think she quite likes that game??) as she does bite when excited

A game that I play with my birds involves a leather lace, about 10" long. A wooden bead tied on one end, and a few knots tied in the other. I pull the lace along, and they try to catch it, hold it, or take it out of my hand. I let them hold it a second, and then pull it gently away, or hold it above their heads. I let them have one end, and hold the other. Which makes them want the end that I am holding. We switch ends repeatedly a few times. You'll know how to play like this once you start. They'll love it.

A lot of parrots like to play "fetch." Of course, it's we humans who actually do the fetching. :) Some parrots like to play tug-o-war with a string too.

Ralph loves to play tapping games too. He'll tap on the cage bars, or a perch or a branch of his playstand, and wait for me to tap back. I have to respond with the right number of taps, or I get squawked at. :D

so thats where i was going wrong with playing fetch with the nut!!!
as for tug of war she like to cheat by making a swipe for the fingers holding onto string, i don't think the nut understands play, or sharing!!

oh an showers! and bath times her fav

she is currently bullying my son for a chew on his zip

:green: My Green Cheek has a thing for bells!
I have a really big bell that he loves so much and i attach it to a string and he loves running after it. Also I play hide and seek with the bell I would ring it and he would follow the sound :09:

I play bird sounds on my computer for him and he also gets really excited. I also placed some bird food on the balcony so my bird can watch s out the window how other Birds eat and interact
