I couldn't resist today,at the pet store there was the big 50% off cart full of bird toys and I found one of the big paper toys that is in a cone shape with the little bits of different material sticking out because I know my bird would love it.I tried to get it from the middle of the pile so it hadn't been handled a ton but I still wish to sanitize it.But I'm afraid with the steamer it would cause mold and mildew so would it be okay to just give it to her?

I do not think you can sanitize paper toys. Just thinking you could blow off with a hot hair dryer to get the dust particles off.

I really don't think u have to worry about it but u could bake it in the oven at a low temp for an hour or so. That should kill anything on it if u r that worried about it.

lol just blow off dust particals, and wipe down with diluted lemon juice, that type of thing

cold temps just make bacteria dormant, or reduce its growth

the heat needed to kill off bacteria could set toy alight

but there is very little food/moisture for bacteria on paper for bacteria to multiply into dangerous levels
