They are amazingly beautiful although I guess super hard to tame and keep that way. So if you want a pet, they may not be a good choice. If you just like looking at and listening to them though, they sure are gorgeous.

thanks everyone! I've never seen one of those before. The colors are amazing.

And I'm not looking for another animal right now. My conure has an attitude the size of 10 birds. haha. I'll stick to that.

They are beautiful birds. There are also crimson rosellas, western rosellas, northern rosellas, green rosellas and pale-headed rosellas. I don't know which of the varieties are found in captivity, but they're all worth looking up. :)

do they have different diets from our parrots? Or do they typically have the same needs?

It would be the same. You feed them the parakeet to cockatiel size food.
