flight suits

So I wanted to get my baby gcc a flight suit but I want to know where you guys got yours. And are flight suits better than harnesses? Also what size should I get a gcc?

The brand that mysafebirdstore sells I used a long time ago. From what I remember, it worked well. I know it can take some time to get them used to the suits, but it is very important they are not too loose!

So would a harness work better or a flight suit/birdy diaper? And would a small work or would a xsmall be better?

I ordered one last week, should be here today. From everything i read, people seem to prefer the aviator harness, its not as bulky, easy to chew and goes on better. We shall see!

I re urged mine from bird paradise and I use the aviator harness. I prefer that because there's no buckles and it goes on like a shirt. It can be used for flying or walking because the stretchy leash slides of the harness to adjust. The box actually tells you what birds fit what size and it comes with an educational DVD. It's fairly simple. Although I have seen other harnesses with 4 buckles on it! Ridiculous! Anyway its like $30 and comes in different colors. Very nice however unless I loosen it all the way when taking it off my bird doesn't like it coming off and over her wings

For my YSGCC I bought a flight suit because I make long car trips every few months and this would let her have freedom to hang out on me for long periods of time and I don't have to worry about any messes

Here is the website to buy it from: Avian Fashions: FlightPacks They provide an easy size chart to pick what's best for your kind of bird. So for the GCC its a Jr-Small and I can say that it is the right size for my Roxy

And Roxy is on the smaller side of most GCCs too.

How easy is it to get your parrot used to wearing a flight suit or a harness? I can't imagine Puffin being to easy to get one on but I guess there is a way to gradually get them used to them. I would love to be able to let him outside and have a fly but I am terrified of losing him and I have considered trying him on one but not sure how to go about it?

Just leave it in the room if he is absolutely terrified and then work it close to the cage then on the cage and then wear it around your neck then per him with it, then practice jut putting the head through then the head Nd wings etc. I however took advantage mine was no scared and simply let her while putting on the harness and she seemed to not even notice it
