Not ISe. "Use" Sorry bout the typo. Our lovely little boy likes to shred the newspaper no matter what kind of toys I give him. Pepper, our other bird, leave it alone. A friend suggested we try using puppy training pads at the bottom of the cage. So far, no more shredding! And they're quite absorbant too.

I just wanted to double check this was safe? They both leave them alone. Or other suggestions for bottom of the cage paper? He seems like to shred. And I buy him toys to play with and he does play with them. But the little boy can't stop it with the newspaper. :)

I'm not really sure of the difference, but we use "bedpads" for our cages, like for a child that wets the bed, designed to go under the sheets. We've been using them for over a year now with no problems. Not only do they work really well, it makes cage cleaning a TON easier!! They are available here in 3 different sizes I think and they can be cut to fit as well.

I didn't even think of that. I do know that I think GoodNites has a bed pad for kids. Barkley's cage is so big we end up using two puppy pads.

I use puppy pads as well. Neither of my birds shred them. I don't know that either kind of pad would be good if they did shred because of the absorbent content in both of them. They sure work great though. No more grate cleaning chores.

I use the puppy pads too , they work great. mine also do not chew or shred them. If they did I would not use them cause i'm sure what ever is in them is not good to digest.

@Barkley-if you have an HEB close by, they have a store brand which is what we use. I think the biggest size is 30"x36"
