Peanut the Jenday Conure,
RIP Max the Green Cheek Conure,
(unknown name) African Grey-arriving soon
Peanut is pretty anti-social. He is ok hanging out as long as we don't get near him. We have started resorting to "trapping" him to take him to a neutral room. While he is in the neutral room he is sorta friendly and will let us give him head scratches. But otherwise he doesnt want anything to do with us.

My husband put him in an animal crate and took him on a car ride to his parents house. Some how Peanut escaped and flew up into a giant maple tree, then flew around the neighborhood and landed in a cedar tree (clipped wings my big toe!) My husband spent an hour and a half hanging out with Peanut in the tree. He eventually got him down and safely back into the animal crate.

My husband said he looked so happy in the tree. So now we are trying to find a small/medium sized live tree we can have in our apartment that dearest Peanut can hang out in. So any non-toxic, low-maintence, trees that are available at a nursery that have a lot of foliage that Peanut can hang out in and nibble on the bark and leaves in a small-ish apartment?

From little to big - currently 6 Linnies; 2 Budgies; 1 BHP; 2 CAGs; 2 Zons; 1 GWM. Formerly in the flock: 1 LSC2 [fostered/rehomed] RIP: 1 budgie 1 WCP & 1 sweet Pan Am
You might also want to buy a bag of those river stones they sell in landscaping departments, to keep Peanut out of the fertilizer in the pot - many birds love to eat dirt & that dirt will surely contain fertilizer. Better to prevent access. I think Peanut will love a tree!

I'm looking for one for my living room. So far I've just gotten gigantic jade plants, a Norfolk pine (that the amazon occasionally lands on) & am going to add one or two more (its a big living room).

Pritti (Cherry-Head Conure) -- Fly in Peace my beautiful boy. Forever I'll love you.
I think it is the sweetest thing that you are getting Peanut his own tree because it made him happy to be in the trees outside.
