I just can't bring myself to throw these beautiful feathers away! I was hoping to get some good ideas on what other parronts do with their feathers. I am one of those moms that kept every tooth that my daughter lost so it didn't shock me when I wanted to keep the feathers also.Doesn't it seem like we should be able to make little feather suits for the poor feather pluckers out there? Instead of "locks of love" we could do a "feathers of faith"? lol

i only keep a selection of feathers, but all in one spot, in a china cup, generally one or two from each bird i have ever owned, going back to my first bird. the rest of them just get thrown out when cleaning.

Cody-Blu, female Blue-Crowned Conure, Hatched - (approx) June 1, 2014, in a South Florida tree.

Pritti (Cherry-Head Conure) -- Fly in Peace my beautiful boy. Forever I'll love you.
I have almost every feather Pritti has given us for about 15 years (non-down, clipped or teeny ones). I have this intersting natural wallhanging tree bark kind of thing I bought in the Colorado Rockies. It's almost like a big tube and has natural leather strings wrapped around it that holds it togther, dried wildflowers and then there were some feathers placed in the leather strings. So one day I started adding the long feathers to the leather strings (I had accumulated some of them and they were on my dresser). Then everytime Pritti gave us one, I would add it in, then started making a design out of them. Now it probably dozens and dozens, maybe hundreds, and they fan out in layers and are so beautiful. People look at it and compliment all the time. Pritti has helped to create a unique piece of art in a place that everyone sees in the house.

Maybe you can add it to a big vase you have out, or a picture frame or accent decoration item, where you could wrap some ribbon or natural leather and then start tucking in some feathers.
