So, Cricket (a budgie) and Acorn (gcc) seem to have fallen in love. I saw Cricket attempting to mount Acorn. I do not believe that they can mate successfully. Is it likely that Acorn will start laying?

You are right, a budgie and a conure cannot successfully produce offspring. Acorn may start nesting and lay eggs, infertile of course, but I would try to curb any of that behavior before it comes to that. Make sure that there are no dark places for her to climb into and remove any shredable items if she starts trying to build a nest with them :)

She does not have dark places in her cage. And I have not seen her do more than shred stuff. She does not play with the mess she makes.
