So I understand Hollis is going to go through a "first moult".
What am I to expect from this, when is it going to happen and what can I do to ease her through it?

First molt occurs between 4-12 months of age, typically. Lasts from a few weeks to a couple of months. Lots of feathers, pin feathers, blood feathers, possibly crabby and itchy bird.

Expect a little crabbieness, but besides giving your bird 10 to 12 hours of sleep and a diet high in calcium, you can also help by removing the sheaths of new feathers in places your bird cannot reach, like the back of her head. If she doesnt want to play, that's normal, give her space and let her be. However, if you see bald patches in her feathers, or an extreme loss in wieght or appetite, consult a vet.
